Selecting and Viewing Layers

Is there a way to click in the image on a color and making the corresponding layer active? It takes forever to turn layers off and on looking for the desired layer. 

Also, I can option click on the layer eye icon and turn off all the layers but the active one--but option clicking again on eye doesn't turn all the previous layers back on. Really annoying to have to remember which layers were off and which were on.

thank you for your suggestion.
At the moment it is not possible to do this in Rebelle however we would like to implement such a possibility in the future.

What may help you right now in your workflow is to set a shortcut for "Show / Hide Layer" in Preferences > Layer.
This way you can switch layers on and off more easily than by clicking on the eye itself. It is not much of a help but maybe you'll find it useful :)
