New Stone & Gesso Papers: Rich Traditional Surfaces for Every Creative Style

A- | A+

Our latest collection introduces five handcrafted papers and canvases that capture the look and feel of real artistic grounds. From mineral-rich stone textures to experimental gesso recipes, each surface brings its own character into your digital studio.

Stone /ST07

ST07 Stone combines a paper base with crushed aluminum oxide, resin, and a dual-layer acrylic coating tinted with natural pigments. The result is a refined, subtly textured surface that feels equally comfortable with expressive oil painting and traditional dry media. It offers enough tooth to grip pigments while remaining versatile for a wide range of artistic styles.

Stone /ST08

Built from paper, crushed aluminum oxide, and a single acrylic coating, ST08 Stone adds gentle warmth through natural color variations created with chili pepper. The understated texture makes it an excellent all-purpose surface, equally suited for sketching, painting, and mixed techniques without overpowering your artwork.

Stone /ST09

ST09 Stone is designed for artists looking for a more dramatic texture. Its rugged surface, resembling a miniature mountain landscape when zoomed in, combines sandpaper, acrylic coating, and a touch of chalk to create a striking terrain for your brushes and pencils. Whether you're experimenting with bold dry media or heavily textured paint, this surface rewards expressive mark-making.

Gesso Flour /GS10

Sometimes the most unusual ingredients create the most interesting results. GS10 Gesso Flour blends acrylic, chalk, and even wheat flour into a distinctive gesso that produces a richly textured canvas. Perfect for confident oil painting and mixed-media exploration, it encourages artists to embrace bold brushwork and creative experimentation.

Gesso Kaolin /GS11

GS11 Gesso Kaolin features a carefully balanced mixture of chalk, natural gelatin, and kaolin. The visible rectangular brush strokes left by the application process become part of the artwork itself, adding lively texture beneath every layer of paint or every pencil mark. It's an excellent choice when you want the surface to actively contribute to the finished piece.

How We Create Papers for Rebelle

The ultra-realistic papers are an absolute gem. When creating papers, we look for a suitable contrast in texture to capture the characteristics of the fibers, which creates a unique paper structure every time. Papers are not a simple copy of reality. They are new textured images created with respect to the original pattern and behave realistically like real papers while painting in Rebelle.

Whether you prefer subtle mineral textures or bold experimental grounds, these new papers expand the creative possibilities inside Rebelle while staying true to the feel of traditional artistic materials. Every surface offers a unique starting point, inviting you to discover how texture can become an essential part of your creative process.

Happy Painting!
