I have never used more advanced software for real-media mimicking than Rebelle. People were surprised to find out my art was digital.
I was blown away by the watercolor and paper interactions in Rebelle. There really is no other software that as closely emulates the real world of watercolor.
I frequently begin my compositions with sketches. The new Edit Guides and the option to Show or Hide the reference give me the freedom to make adjustments along the way and add additional references without having to worry about working on layers; it's all in the Reference Image Panel!
None painting software has been as jaw-dropping to see in evolution as Escape Motions' Rebelle. If you want digital art software that provides results as close to real-world painting as possible, Rebelle should be on your radar.
Rebelle is an excellent, affordable program replicating traditional painting techniques with absolute authenticity.
Rebelle claims to provide a true-to-life painting experience, and it doesn't disappoint.
Rebelle is one of the best art programs you'll come across. It offers the most realistic art brushes out of any programs featured here, it is the easiest to navigate, making it fast to learn.
Being a traditional artist that loves to play with fluid paints, Rebelle is one of the coolest things to have in your digital arsenal!
Rebelle oils are magnificent. Stunning! They offer an exquisite example of “technology so advanced it appears to be magic”.
Having been a traditional painter for many, many years, I would never have believed that software could feel so much like painting with traditional oils… shockingly good!
I crazily fell in love with Rebelle and was amazed by its resources. It is so close to the genuine manual painting, I had never seen anything even close to it.
Rebelle provides an order of magnitude better sketching and painting result compared to any other application I have tried.
Rebelle is going to be my go-to painting application. I’ve never achieved such natural media realism with any other app.
Rebelle 6 is the best painting app I’ve ever used and the new features make creating beautiful artwork even easier and faster.
Opening Rebelle 6 for the first time was like waking up on Christmas morning, full of surprises and the realization that this was going to be something truly extraordinary.
Having been a traditional painter for many, many years, I would never have believed that software could feel so much like painting with traditional oils… shockingly good!
I think the new liquify tool in Rebelle 6 is going to be an amazing addition. It is fast, easy, and looks great because of the fractal technique, but best of all, because it works with thick paint, it makes it look so realistic.
I have been using Rebelle software for years and it never makes me feel bored. The seed of unpredictability provided by excellent watercolors and oil simulation makes the final illustrations unique.
Masking tools and Clipping Masks are among my favorite new Layers features.
Rebelle 6 comes full of new tools for people who just want to create art and grow as artists. There are many new features, small or big, you didn’t know you need. The Liquify tool alone is worth the upgrade, there isn’t any Liquify tool so advanced as the one in Rebelle.
I particularly like the watercolor granulation in Rebelle. The effect doesn't look false, like after analogous filters, but is an integrated part of a whole
Rebelle has an unbeatable texture. I love the way the brushstrokes behave, blending and dripping like real paint. The Pigment color mixing causes some wonderful color blending, as if I were painting on real canvas.
Rebelle 6 will meet or exceed your expectations, whether you are a beginner to digital painting or a seasoned professional.
I am loving the Reference ImageGuides in Rebelle 6, it is a huge time saver and really helps lay out the structure of what I’m trying to paint.
With all of the new features in Rebelle 6, by far my favorite is the new Layer Mask. Masking a layer gives me the ability to make non-destructive adjustments.
Rebelle has been my favorite traditional media painting simulation program for years. New improvements in the version 6 such as Liquify, Warp Tool, and new filters make it an increasingly powerful tool for editing painted images. You could say it mixes the best of both worlds!
As a traditionally trained artist who wanted to cross over into digital artwork but was frustrated that I couldn't get the same satisfying painterly effects and feel, I was amazed by Rebelle from first downloading it. I continued to be amazed at the tools, the feel, the platform, and all of the work that the obviously passionate team puts into this software.
The Length Slider belongs to my favorite new features in Rebelle. It makes any brush into a dab brush with a specific amount of paint on the brush. With the right combination of settings a typical brush will run out of paint at your choosing, then convert into a blender brush. Just by lifting and touching down the brush at specific intervals gives you the benefit of painting and blending for extended periods. No Mode change, no brush change just keep painting!
The possibility to adjust the stroke length is a very valuable tool for digital painters. Normally, as a digital painter, you have an infinite amount of paint on the brush and can paint for hours without putting the brush down. With the shortening of the stroke length, one comes much closer to traditional painting and is disciplined not to just paint away, but to think about every single stroke. I think it's great that when the paint runs out, the brush starts to blend. Just like in real life…
My absolute favourite are the Reference Image Guides. For me as a portrait painter, they are a great help and a wonderful feature that the developers have come up with. That alone is a reason for me to switch to Rebelle 6.
Rebelle 6 gives the best of all worlds for creating digital art with traditional techniques. It is without a doubt the best software on the market and this version just made it even better.
I have been using Rebelle for several years alongside other painting programs. For me, it is the program that brings traditional painting methods of the analog world almost perfectly into the digital world with all its possibilities. It has long been my favorite painting program.
You need to get Rebelle. It is very well designed, and powerful but simple at the same time, quite a feat in software design. The response to different settings is linear and predictable and it behaves as you would expect the paint to behave. It really needs a lot of people playing around with it, I am sure that there are many new approaches that are just waiting to be discovered. It is NOT just a watercolor simulator, the other tools are equally excellent. Combining them is a joy.
Rebelle 6's ability to increase the viscosity of digital paint into virtual liquid is something I never expected to want but now I use it whenever an interesting mixture of colors can bring a little life to a painting.
Rebelle has always given me a lot of scope to experiment and play with the simulation of liquid colors and their intercourse. With the new Liquify function and the Warp transformation, there is another new playing field for experiments. The simulated progression of analog colors can thus be taken to extremes by digital effects. I can only recommend everyone to try Rebelle 6 for themselves, it's just a lot of fun.
A truly great program just got even better. Many innovations that greatly improve workflow and usability. New filters, liquify, the warp tool, an overhauled reference panel, favorite brushes palette (simple yet super helpful) and so much more.
Layer masks and grids/guides; satisfying and intuitive, are wonderful additions that only improve my workflow. The expansion on the Brush Creator and the Warp tool are healthy reasons to always want to have the latest iteration of Rebelle!
Less jumping to other Apps for certain tasks and the overall improved user experience really help me to stay in the flow while painting. Well done Rebelle 6!
With Rebelle 6, the Escape Motions Team has significantly expanded and improved the possibilities of the program. For me personally, the new Brush Creator is the absolute highlight. I can now quickly and easily adapt each brush to what I need at the moment. In the analog world I had the strangest self-made tools for different effects on my work table - now in Rebelle 6 I just tinker my brushes on the fly from a momentary whim. And with the new Favorites category, I can easily put together my favorite tools at hand.
