The brushes still follow trajectory even when this option is selected.

Hi [USER=66169]@jonnywiseman[/USER], does your pen support pen tilt and/or pen rotation? This option works only when the pen supports it. Otherwise the 'Follow trajectory' is used. Also check whether the rotation setting for the particular brush is not locked by any chance, in the Brush Creator: [img]https://www.escapemotions.com/community/uploads/posts/2021/01/force rotation mode.jpg[/img]

Hi! What you describe can happen if your Brush preset has "Force Rotation Mode" (little lock right next to rotation mode selector) turned on and "Follow Trajectory" is selected. Force rotation mode overrides that setting from preferences for that Brush preset. Other option is that your tablet or pen doesn't actually support pen tilt or rotation, in that case it will not use those and will instead use follow trajectory. If neither of these apply please let us know.

I have the Wacom Art pen, which I got specifically because it has Barrel Rotation. I submitted early on in the Rebelle 4 forum that the icon for pen rotation was wobbly and it was hard to discern which direction the pen would be in before it made the first mark. At least it would rotate even though it was hard to tell the direction before making the stroke. Now in version 4.0.3 it does not rotate at all. I have tried with the lock icon on and off. And the icon barely rotates from the verticle position...it moves just a little in either direction but that's it. I will rotate the stylus in my hand 360 degrees but the icon might change by 10 degrees. And when the stroke is made there is no variation in the angle of the brush shape tip. I will go back to 4.0.1 until this can be remedied. Loving your software despite this. Good luck. Hope you can get it worked out.

Also I am using both a Wacom Intuos Pro medium and also the Wacom Mobile Studio Pro 16. Same result on both tablets. No pen rotation.

Hi, Thanks for replying. Yes I'm using a xp-pen deco pro which supports tilt. ok I will check to see if brushes are locked but this was the behaviour from scratch, did not expect it to be locked by default as I presumed the preference check box was to provide a easy way to change the behaviour from follow trajectory to tilt. ( on brushes that it makes sense to have tilt).

Some brushes have this setting active to behave correctly.
