In videos I see people using soft brush in the Mixing Palette, and they can blend softly.

When I use the Mixing Palette, it always uses hard brush regardless of which brush I have selected for painting. The brush in the Mixing Palette is always a circle with hard edges. When I blend in the Mixing Palette, it also has hard edges.

What should I do to use a brush with soft edges inside the Mixing Palette?

Thank you.

Hello John,

the videos are probably from Rebelle 5's older versions. In Rebelle 5.0.8 we've introduced a few changes to the Mixing Palette, specifically:

- Mixing Palette - brushes have hard edges to prevent mixing with the background
- Mixing Palette - Paint, Blend tool is not mixed with background color
- Mixing Palette - changing the Paint tool "Opacity" makes glazing strokes
- Mixing Palette panel menu -> "Background Color" to change the background color

This was done after numberous feedback from Rebelle artists on the Mixing palette.

In conclusion, Rebelle 5.1.1 does not feature the soft edged brush in the Mixing palette.

That makes sense, now I know I'm not missing something. Thank you, Veronika.
