Hello! I wanted to show my work-in-progress of the AH-64D Longbow currently being drawn in Rebelle 4. I've been a traditional (analog) and digital artist for years. My tools include Photoshop, ArtRage, and recently I've come to really love Rebelle! Here is my progress on this helo: 1. I built a 1:48 scale model of the AH-64A Apache helicopter a number of years ago and have always like the rugged lines of this helo. I used my photo of my model as inspiration for my drawing. I really like the interface which for me, is like Photoshop and since I'm a longtime fan of Photoshop, It was easy for me to figure out the tools within Rebelle 4. After I've roughed out the basic shapes of this chopper, I began to sketch in the details. I started with the Target Aquisition and Designation Sight (TADS) unit up front and just worked my way backwards. I have to reference many photos of this helicopter as my model doesn't show off all the intricate detail. The model was merely my inspiration for the approximate angle I wanted to portray this helo. Futher development of the front end of the chopper, using 2B-6B pencils in Rebelle 4. I'm working on the cockpit and the whole area around the cockpit. Holy smokes, that is amazing! Not only is the detail phenomenal, but you've also captured the "personality" of the helicopter. : ) I've worked with rotary wing aircraft before. Chinooks are my favorite, but the Apache is definitely the most visually striking. And I love how they look when their rotors are folded back, like mean little dragonflies. Thank you for sharing!

Amazing, love the shading and values on this one. However, what is that ball thing on top of the helicopter? I dont see that in the original photo. Man i love the pencils in R5, they produce a traditional graphite look.

Nice! Oh! Hey! I know who you are! (Followed you on G+ and now on Twitter.) If anyone can make Rebelle sing, it will be you.

This is incredible. Even people who - like me - are not much into this kind of thing will be blown away by this combination of detail and expressive painting.

Great work! This is a prime example of how quality reference in the hands of a great artist can create a great picture. I have started learning how to sculpt so I can control the lighting. I would imagine painting from the model you have is much better than trying to get the right values from a photo.
