Make selection of whole drawing in layer

I would love to see a feature where I could make a selection of the whole drawing in a layer as I use it very often in programs like clip paint studio. I think it would be very useful in rebelle 3 like a version of quick stencil

have you tried the Magic wand selection? Make sure all checkboxes are deselected, click on an empty area on the canvas - this will select everything except the paint. Then click the Invert selection button:

The paint of a layer will be selected.
