Unpredictable touch behaviour

Hi Rebelles, congrats on the brilliant new version!
I have had an issue with using Rebelle from early versions and have always assumed it's my set up but just in case ... Often (but not always) after I save a file for the first time my ability to zoom, pan and rotate the canvas (with 2 fingers) stops working. The Navigator tools work fine. I can sometimes finger input it to work again (momentarily) by moving focus to the desktop and then back to Rebelle or by clicking a few times on buttons on the Navigator window.
I am using a Dell Canvas 27, Windows 10, i7-7700, 16GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB. I am using Microsoft Ink and have multi-touch and canvas rotation enabled.
Cheers,
Matt

I just started experiencing this same problem today as well. The moment I use the zoom or rotate multi-touch function, it immediately stops working. I was hoping there was a way to fix it, but it doesn't seem to be a known issue.

Also just had this problem crop up on my Surface Pro 7+. I hadn't actually done much in the past few months but touch is definitely feeling very unpredictable for various actions. 2 Finger zoom will occasionally (upon touching the screen) zoom out to what feels like 10% and when I go to zoom in more it goes back out to that scale as soon as I touch the screen again. I'm also not sure if it's just me doing something weird but the side button on my pen sometimes gets locked and I can't stop panning the canvas around.

I also have this problem, both on a Surface Book 2 and a Surface Studio 2. Soon after I start using two-finger zoom and rotate the canvas, that functionality freezes. I have noticed that I briefly can do it again after switching windows, but then it locks the that movement again right after. I rememebr this being present in previous versions of Rebelle as well.

Hello guys,
we're currently looking into some issues with the touch function. Will let you know when we find a solution.

Hi All
Rebelle 5.07 (as well as earlier versions) has serious track pad issues, its seriously uncontrollable using the Mac trackpad.
Considering the convenience of using the trackpad with the software it needs to be corrected.
Only happens with Rebelle.
Otherwise thanks for a great creativity tool.

Hi guys,
could you please test Rebelle 5.0.9 version where some issues with the touch has been resolved? How is this version working in terms of multitouch? Do you experience the same issues?
@barryk, Rebelle is not working with the trackpads, we will look into that.

Rebelle 5.0.9 has got worse in terms of the trackpad. Even when I accidentally touch the trackpad, the zoom goes crazy, which it always has done. But now it stops the command, option and other keys from working.
The only way to get the keys working again is to quit and re-open the application
This is on a MacBook Pro M1 Pro 14 inch
It's really quite a nuisance, as even moving the palm of my hand on the trackpad makes this happen, which is easy to do accidentally when using keyboard shortcuts
Apart from that, it's all working well for me

Hi!
I'm having equal problems on a Surface Pro 7 device.
Multitouch zoom and rotate is only very seldom working properly.
Most of the time the zoom goes crazy and the cavans gets smaller and smaller each time and moved away from its position when I try to make a two-finger gesture to rotate or zoom the canvas.
One-finger gesture for moving the canvas works reliable and properly.
But like I said the two-finger multitouch sadly not.

Forgot to mention that I'm using the most recent Rebelle 7 bought and downloaded yesterday.

Hi alfish,
I am sorry to hear you are having such issues.
Please try choosing Windows Pointer Device in the Edit > Preferences > Tablet > Tablet options in Rebelle.
Confirm with the OK button and restart Rebelle.
Has this helped?

Hi!
Thanks for the quick answer.
It actually seems to help a lot but I cannot explain why.
I've tried all 4 options there many times and none of them did help yesterday.
But today it seems to be fine with your suggested option.
Strange but great that is works now.
Or maybe it was related to Rebelle 3 somehow which I had installed before.
I've installed Rebelle 7 and had both 3 and 7 installed together.
Then I've uninstalled 3 and had only 7 installed.
And I think I did not have to reboot.
I just rebooted today because of some Windows update.
So maybe that solved it somehow?

Same here on a mac with a wacom intuos pro and a magic trackpad. Multitouch is unusable.
