Painting along, suddenly the canvas will either completely disappear ... flying off somewhere ... or just joggle / rotate itself around ... but sometimes more than one rotation. And when it does disappear, it's challenging to get it back. It seems to shrink the image as well as throw it way out in space ... seemingly ... usually up and to the right. This problem has been happening, infrequently, since purchase ... but recently it seems to be happening more often. I don't think I'm hitting any secret key sequence to create this, and I don't think it has anything to do with my tablet (Intuos 4 with art pen). I have reset the workspace back to default ... but it's still happening. I'm on Rebelle 4.1.2, Mac 10.14.3. Any help will be appreciated!! Thank you!! it's definitely got something to do with the touch / track pad on the MacBook Pro laptop. Any ideas as to what the ideal settings ought to be? I don't know why this has suddenly become such a problem ...

I'm having the same problem with my Windows 11 but happens in Rebelle 5 and Painter 2022. I usually have to shut my laptop down and restart to get it back to normal and will last normally for a bit but then goes flying around the screen again. Hopefully someone out there can help us.

Thanks Mary. You know what, I didn't even think of shutting down my computer ... Whatever is going on, though, it's definitely something to do with the touch / track pad. Looking back, when the canvas has jumped around, I have probably hit the touch pad with my thumb accidentally.

Hello [USER=73260]@LoisBryan[/USER], thank you for explaining the issue. If this happens accidentally after hitting the touch, and you do not use the touch otherwise, I suggest to turn it off. You can do so by clicking on [i]Edit>Preferences...>Tablet[/i] and unchecking the "[i]Enable Touch[/i]" option. Also, just a quick tip: if the canvas rotates unexpectedly, just press the"Fit to screen" button in the Navigator panel or use a shortcut [b].[/b] or [b]Ctrl+0 [/b]I hope this will be helpful.

Alzbeta thank you for your ideas. Yes, I love the "fit to screen button" ... it's getting worn out!! I'm assuming the "touch" that you mention is a feature of tablets ... probably on newer, more advanced models? Mine is an ancient Wacom Intuos 4, and there is no touch function other than the buttons and dial on the left. The "touch" that I was referring to is the touch pad on my laptop computer. I should have made that more clear, I'm sorry. I often sit with the laptop on my lap, and hold the Wacom over the keyboard. I hold the tablet with my left hand, so four fingers are under the left side of the tablet, the thumb over the top to work the buttons. The right edge of the Wacom rests against the right edge of the laptop ... to the right of the keys, actually right where the speakers are. I'm becoming more and more convinced that the issue is with the computer's touch / trakc pad. I'm just going to have to be much for cautious ... not to get any fingers under there touching anything!!

Hi [USER=73260]@LoisBryan[/USER], The trackpad also uses touch and this might happen as their touch support is not as optimized as on the tablets. So please, deactivate touch feature in Rebelle's Preferences, this should help. You can do so by clicking on [i]Rebelle 5 > Preferences... > Tablet[/i] and uncheck the "Enable Touch" option. Click OK to confirm. If you need any further assistance please let us know.

[/QUOTE] This remains a problem for v8. It's your code not the trackpad. Trackpad should work smoothly and without hidden effects for the user. I have never seen this problem before with many other graphics software. And for new users it's a disturbing problem since they have no idea what is going on. I am going to experiment with my Wacom as well. [MacOS 15.2, iMac M4]

Just got Rebelle 8 and yes, Meitnik, the canvas is still whizzing around whenever I accidentally touch it. My situation is, I use an ancient Wacom ... and love it dearly ... which I rest over my keyboard on my MacBook Pro ... so the accidental touching of the trackpad when I go to use the keyboard is practically unavoidable. I'm going to take the advice above and disable the trackpad in Preferences. Fingers crossed! Thanks again, everyone, for your suggestions.
