Latest Wacom Driver for Windows crashes Rebelle

Problem started when I update my Wacom Driver for my Intuos pth-451 tablet. Then the brushes started to get sluggish, and then freeze, and the program would spontaneously crash - no autosave. Happened in both Rebelle 6 and 5. I had to uninstall the driver and reload an easier one. Seems to have fixed it.

You saved a person from mental breakdown here. Apparently it's the latest version of driver (at time of writing this post) which causes this type of lag.
It had the same experience.
Slow working brushes, problems with autosave, and random crashes with no crash reports. (Rebelle 5/6 close themselves)
I'm surprised someone didn't write this post earlier so I didn't have to uninstall and install Rebelle again and again with tons of my brushes.
I won't be updating my driver for some time for sure..
Thank you

We found our there is an issue in the latest Wacom driver, temporary solution is to downgrade the driver, previous versions should work fine.

I am using DTH-271, no matter what version of Rebelle I use, it will cause a crash, and if it is not saved, I will go crazy. I hope the staff will fix it quickly! ! !

Thanks for your reports, everyone.
Could you please try the latest Wacom driver 6.4.1-3? We got a reply from Wacom that there was some issue with the previous driver version. If Rebelle still crashes with 6.4.1-3, please follow the guidelines for reporting crashes in the first post here:
https://www.escapemotions.com/community/forum/t/1115/rebelle-freezing-how-to-report-it
And when sending us the report via email, please include a link to this forum thread so that we can assign it properly.
Then, you can downgrade the Wacom driver to version 6.4.0-11 which should work without crashing.
Thank you all for helping us with this issue.

Saludos.-

Update to the Wacom driver issue: We're in touch with the Wacom team, as one user is still experiencing crashes in the latest 6.4.1-3 driver.
We will keep you posted.
The workaround at this time is to download an older driver (not the previous one, but even older).

I've installed the wacom driver 6.3.46-2 on my PTH-651 now (assuming that 6.4 is causing the issue) and the crashes have stopped so far.
I hope the new driver is going to fix the issue soon.

I've been having this issue not only with Rebelle 6, but also with Corel Painter 2023 & 2021. Since it was with multiple programs, I assumed it wasn't Rebelle's issue and didn't report it. Corel just got back to me and said they've determined it's a Wacom driver issue, so I assume this is the same problem. Has anyone heard from Wacom regarding fixing this issue? should I contact them myself?

The strange thing is, I'm using driver version 6.4.1-3 with a Cintiq Pro 32 (DTH-3220), and not getting a single crash.. at all. A friend of mine is using an intuos with that driver and getting repeated crashes. Weird that it should not happen with the Cintiq.

Interesting. I'm using a one-year-old Intuos Pro PTH 860. Last night I tried to do some work and got 5 crashes in 20 minutes, one of which happened as soon as the program opened. The longest I got between crashes was 7 minutes. It's driving me nuts.

Update: after doing a manual uninstall, I reverted to the 6.3 version, which works. It's obviously an issue with the newest drivers. I've also been going back and forth with Wacom, their techs keep telling me to just reinstall 6.4 & it'll be fine. It's not fine. I've already done that, it doesn't work. At this point I'm beginning to think Wacom is useless and it's better to save up and go with another tablet, meanwhile just never updating the driver.

Thank you all for your reports and patience.
Wacom replied to our crash reports. They need our users to try the following:
1. Install the latest Wacom driver again (the crashing one)
2. Just verify that Rebelle still crashes with it.
3. If you have touch enabled in the Wacom driver settings, please try to disable it (e.g. following this guide: http://101.wacom.com/userhelp/en/TouchOptions_Display.htm) and try to crash Rebelle again. Then enable the touch back again for the next testing step if it was enabled before.
4. Rename the file "C:\Windows\System32\WacomMT.dll" to "WacomMT.dll.backup" and try to crash Rebelle again.
Please, let us know about the result of steps 3 and 4 and if it crashes, please send us the content of the crash report dialog to [url=mailto:
]

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hello,
Context Windows 11 Latest + Intuos Pro L (hardware touch switch off)
I renamed the DLL as suggested and have not crashed all day (instead of every 10 minutes).
So thanks for the tip.
Question: Will Escape Motion know when Wacom expects to deploy the fix?
Regards,
Philippe
