No responses here and not in facebook. Not single word. They should be honest if they have problems to deliver the program. Other strange thing is that preorder still goes on and with special price which should be end now (13.12.23). I got previously fast support with account activation so its strange why they wont answer now. Im 100% sure they have noticed all messages people have written.
I quess i wait until tomorrow. If you staff read this, be honest with us. Bad news are better than no news at all.

I won't go as far as requesting the refund as frankly I don't see myself being able to get the 80% off again anytime soon, and if there's a delay then that sucks, but so be it.
However, some communication would be good. Whether it be an announcement of a time it will be available, or if there's some kind of unforeseen issue. It's gone 1pm here in the UK now, so we've reached 14th December the world over, and some time zones will already have reached the 15th.

Being part of a software house in my job, I surely prefer to wait one or more days longer that to install a somehow buggy release.
But being also part of a marketing team, I suggest Escape Motions to reserve some extra time to provide feedback and tell their customer that everything is under management to provide the best experience.
To all the users here I suggest to wait calmly. Do you really think that some hours or a couple of days will make the difference in you creativity or work?
So, let's just hope in some better feedback and let the development team set up a top release that will be fire!

We have to think that small software houses have different criticalities from big ones. And I understand that escape motions is a company driven by great passion but maybe with limited means for the market ambitions in front of it.
If Rebelle is to be a change in the panorama of painting software, the credit will also go to a community that is capable of encouraging the efforts in innovation and supporting the company in its work.
Come on, if you used promotion like me, we are talking about a platform that just costed you a few dollars/euros... I would say that being a little less sour and supportive towards the team could be a good thing.
Let's see what happens...

The problem with bugs is that they can keep appearing. Sometimes when you fix one error, another pops up as a result. It is difficult to predict when you will have fixed all the errors in the program.
When marketing says you must choose a date to release it, that does not guarantee you will actually be able to relese it on that date.

The day of the preorders, the website was having a bit of trouble loading pages and displaying carts. I'd expect that to help show how the traffic spikes around that time.
As I recall, Rebelle 7 preorders dropped later in the day, even for domeone in est like me. From what I can tell, the Rebelle forums currently think it's 4:45 pm or so for me, and it's more like 10:45 am. I don't recall what time I was able to preorder, but it was definitely later in the day for me.
If they had the ability to do so, rolling it out across many accounts through the day could help even out demand, and increase the chances of catching any major breaking bugs.
It would be great if they had some more specific times it was available, but since it's a quality product I feel better if it takes a little longer in the day to get it ready rather than release it early and busted.

You're right, but we're talking about a company with a dozen people on the team (according to LinkedIn)... even if it were 20, I can assure you it's not easy to keep up with a release of this scale.
Maybe they will also grow because of this release and with the support of those who have bet on their solutions. And so Rebelle 8 will be even better and we will be proud to have been part of that momentum.
Be a little more tolerant, I'm pretty sure there are people currently working hard to solve the missed release.
Could they come here and tell us something? Yes, and they should.
Don't they? OK, it's a mistake but let's stay calm and give them time to work. It is far too early to talk about wrong purchases or disappointment yet.

I work as a software engineer full-time, and let me tell you, these people are stressed enough right now.
The deadlines feel just as real (arguably moreso) to the people in charge of making that deliverable ready on time as for the would-be customers waiting in anticipation.
It's quite common for problems to arise last-minute in software development. Any number of things might be the cause, from code-signing, to packaging, to internationalization, to critical bugs being found (or resurfacing) last minute. (Also, to a myriad of other things that I can't even think about because I don't know their software stack and release process)
If, and that's a big if, there will be a download ready today, it'll be because some very dedicated and passionate people worked overtime to get this software out as fast as possible. Yes, you paid money for it. So did I. Chill, drink some tea, come back tomorrow if need be.

I suggest you to wait at least tomorrow. You propably wont get that good deal again. Technically they have still time to release it today. Silence is not accpeted, they should inform whats going on. It would be good to them also. Ignoring is always the worst option.
I never ever heard rebelle / escape motion before and i think when i just met this app couple of week ago, it went viral or something. In facebook seems like they got lot of new customers, me included so gaining trust would be good for them now.
Always, bad news are better than no news at all. Uncertainty is always poison to those who bought something and waiting their product.

There's the old saying 'no news is good news', but in the case of a pre-paid software release, communications is key when dealing with delays or issues! It's a simple matter of efficient communications to help set and manage customer expectations. I don't think anyone here would be sour because of a slight delay or whatever if they were kept informed, because everyone obviously loves Rebelle; the issue here is a lack of any feedback to the paying customer as to what time the software will actually be released. I just hope there's a few lesson's learned and that future pre-order releases might be better managed and communicated. Every day is a school day. I'm sure V7 will be awesome when it does become available.

I've worked at several game studios and other software dev companies. [b]I wouldn't worry a single bit[/b]! (besides what I am just going to explain, because of the history of the company: They are serious people). Things happen, a final moment bug, or an issue in testing, etc, etc, etc, etc. Those things are never intentional, and if anything, it gives me the peace of mind that they are not the kind of software company to release something faulty out there (but undetected bugs in releases happen IMO in every big software company, not only in the small and medium size ones. That's why every small or major software brand produces free update fixes and patches).
Of course, if we compared to delayed pre ordered games, the comparison would be even funny to make (as some game companies have gone [b][i]way[/i][/b] too far with that). But in "regular" software I have seen releases pushed out too soon, for the sake of releasing the exact day promised, and, ouch... how much I wish they'd have polished certain things first... It might be nothing to do with that, ie, nothing to do with the development. I'd also like to point out that it's not written anywhere (or... I could not find it) where it said it was to be released at a specific hour (if it's "understood" by people it's the first hour of the day mentioned, or it's a habit by other companies, imo, that's a different matter).
About the feedback... I don't know, each company is a different world. But in the studios I worked at (mostly games) and specially certain trendy software dev company, if a release was promised for a certain day, they'd (people in charge) often try to make it happen within the day promised, at whichever the hour, avoiding a warning of delay. It's a strategic decision in marketing, often not easy to make. If the hour of exact release was not annonced, I think they're still completely fine.
For me, it'd be totally fine if released last hour of the day of this 14th (in EU or even in USA time), but even more, if needs to be delayed 3 or 4 days for last polishing bits, I prefer that (so much) than to have to wait for a later update fix. But to each their own...

I'd rather not be checking every five minutes for a download link. My workload genuinely doesn't rely on having the latest version right now, and I've got enough EM programs that I know they're good for it. EM will probably send an email when it's out.
This isn't the superfastpaced instant gratification service of social media engagement releases. Clearly we just need to wait for the paint to dry, and not work ourselves up. Or others up.
Hate to call this shot, but if someone has their bank do a charge back, and they never get the program, and then they can't buy the program at the discounted rate again.... I'm gonna find no real pleasure in it. No *real* pleasure. Totally fake and made up chortle, I promise.

We give your team the highest trust, because we know the work and complexity behind a software release for a small company making a product for the general public.
As far as I'm concerned, take the time for the release to be optimal, as people complain about the wait but I'm more than sure they would then complain twice as much if there were any problems in the release.
One or two more days what difference does it make? Better that the devs and delivery team have time to do everything right.
Only thing, keep us informed, because as you see, not everyone is patient and trusting.

People... is it that important for an art mimicking traditional paint -which, as someone cleverly pointed out before- is itself about patience (for oils to dry, water to "paint itself", cleaning the brushes, etc ;) ), in a large portion used for what is our passion (some of us make money of it, but even so, if we don't have already tools in place to keep our workflow going, we'd have much serious issues in our overall system), and a big number of people uses it just for a lovely hobby. I do this for work, and I can totally wait 3 days or a full month! :). Let alone some hours. A server might have failed/crushed (disks can go the way of the Dodo), an inexpected bug in the code base, some family issue, tons of things... We live in a world of unforgiving hurries and pressure, imo, let's try to minimize that ;). (my 2c of 1 euro)

Yep, they have a portfolio of successful products, launches, and scored contracts with major companies like Sony... by scamming and faking a product launch? I also agree with the comments that take a very mature approach to this situation. Some commentators behave as if the end of the world is imminent. We humans have become far too impatient and ungrateful these days. We're talking about people who probably have to work overtime to get everything ready and operational. Just show more gratitude and calmness. Especially when you consider that there are only a handful of people who can even develop such a great painting app. Good things take time.
To be honest, I wouldn't be angry with the team if they had to postpone the release date. Perhaps it would also be a good idea for the team to have an evening off and tackle the problem the next day or two. Problems can often be solved if you give people time and space to solve the problem. It is absolutely human and understandable if some things don't go as planned. Sometimes you just need time and patience.
In any case, I will wait and see and look forward to the release - regardless of whether it comes today or in a few weeks' time :)

I do not give D**n who gives their bests and this is not important for da people who bought this product in pre-order sale. We are not impatient we are the community who wants to see what we've just bought. It's not a charity organization and it's not professional. Thanks to rivals 'cuz we've learned what is relase date actually. We don't have to refresh our purchases in every single 10 minutes and we do not need and information about delay to release a PRE-ORDERED product. I, for one, am being patient. And I know this is no scam (I'm shocked anyone even thought that about this company). Every release of Rebelle has been amazing, and getting better each time.
But, I do hope that Escape Motions rethink how they plan releases in the future and go with an earlier release, such as at midnight the day of. Too many internet people are not patient and expect it asap on the planned day of release.

Some of the people on here are wild but I get it. They are late and they arent communicating that enough, thats valid critisism. I want Rebelle 7 on time as well.
What I don't understand is the extent of your frustration, suggesting that there's a sinister corporate scheme preventing you from getting Rebelle 7, or trying to threaten with a refund (which I doubt they'd do) on a product you received at a great discount as if it's a significant loss to them.

Definitely hope the communication improves moving forward. That's the only thing that is upsetting about the situation, but I also get that small teams may be prioritizing their efforts on dev instead of comms since they want to deliver on their promise to the letter at least (i.e. while it's still Dec 14 somewhere in the world). From a PR side, I think a smarter move would just be to post on their [b]main page[/b] that they are working on getting the release out today but there may be a delay.
I understand that software is tricky stuff and delays happen. Hopefully whatever is going on gets sorted and I would prefer a delay with a better product than a major showstopper bug on release. Also customers should try to understand that there is always an element of risk in a pre-order; it's part of the value proposition inherent in a pre-order and a reason for a discount.

I'm just browsing through the 2023 contest gallery and chilling while I wait. I think they've been so cool to us to offer the software at a fraction of the real cost, so they can be as are as they want, if you ask me. I think everyone should just chill a bit.
Also, no way EM are scammers. I've been using their soft for ages now, and it's always top quality, low glitch soft, and affordable, too.

Installed 7 and it is great fun to use. It may be over enthusiasm but the water colour flow and drips that are such fun seem to work faster than with 6. The metalic paints are fun to use too.
I love making splodges and seeing what happens. Doing this with real paper would cost a fortune and not be very sustainable. Doing it with Rebelle is brilliant fun and comes with digital tools like layers, undo etc.

Also not seeing Rebelle 7 under Purchases yet. At least I was able to download the Trial and it recognized my registration for activation. I also have Rebelle 6 Standard and Rebelle 6 Trial (for Pro) installed.
I would also suggest Escape Motions consider making the release time as close to 12midnight as possible. I was willing to accept US EST too. After that, it spoiled the excitement a bit. I went from "Ooh ooh! Almost time, almost time *refreshes Rebelle page every few minutes*" to "(2+ hours later) Mehh... Gotta sleep... I'll just check it again whenever. Rebelle sure has weird timezone, maybe the office isn't open there yet... Don't they have automatic release update?.. Ah well."

It worked great for me. Saw it in my purchases immediately.
BTW, I don't know if it is a placebo effect in my perception (and what I read about the imporvement on oil brushes), but the oil and acrylics brushes seem to work a lot better now. With 6.x I had to fiddle a lot with curves -and never got a result I really loved for the control I desired- to get subtle pressure blends for realistic painting with oils and acrylics, while now without any messing around, Round Hard 2 (probably a duplicated brush I made in 6.x), Filbert, and one of the rakes are working amazingly for me. Tried working on an A3 without nano, exported with nano 3x (to simulate a large print project) and it all went pretty smooth. I seem also to see better export quality, more similar to what I remember of my traditional painting years.

In case it matters to expedite my delivery, I too am not seeing Rebelle 7 in my Account Purchases. I see the free papers, but not the software I paid for.
You really need to communicate if there's a problem. This is my first experience with Rebelle and I'm not very impressed. I understand technical problems happen, I work in IT, but not communicating sends a very concerning message that you're glad to take our money, but unlikely to support us.

Here is a workaround, I purchased but dont see it in my purchases, first of all send your receipt to [url=mailto:

[email protected][/url] but in the meantime download the trial and when you enter your account details you login here with which should be the same ones you used to purchase it will run as the full version of 7. Well, it does for me. The save is enabled as are all features and it doesnt say trial. It appears behind the scenes your purchase may be logged but just not showing on your download page.
