Text Tool

Hello! The feature I miss the most in Rebelle is a Text tool. I know that Rebell has the option to open the project in Photoshop, but I use Affinity, and right now the only option I have is to export png images of the text I want to place from Affinity and paste it in Rebelle, or use as a stencil and paint it onto the canvas. Also, pasted image file is quite flat. If Rebelle had a dedicated Text Tool built in, it would be awesome if it had the properties of paint (like for example drippling when using the watercolor engine etc.). But this is just a secondary idea. In general, I think that the text tool would make Rebelle so much better! I hope we could see it happen in the future!

Having Text as a native tool in Rebelle would be amazing on top of making life a whole lot easier.

Thank you 2dpainter! I actually used this exact same technique for a while now myself. So I am familliar with it. I wrote about it in the original post too, you might have missed it :) However yeah, it's not the most convinient way to do it. A text tool would be extremely useful.

While I don’t have the capability to influence the feature set of software like Rebelle, I can offer a workaround that might help. You could create your text in Affinity with a transparent background and save it as a PNG file. This way, when you import it into Rebelle, it should maintain the transparency and allow you to paint over or under the text, giving it a more integrated feel with the rest of your painting.

Using Affinity to create text with a transparent background and saving it as a PNG file is a great workaround. Adobe Acrobat XI Pro top deal from procadis.com. This method should indeed preserve the transparency when you import it into Rebelle, allowing for more creative freedom in your painting process.

While a text tool is lower on my wish list, it definetly would be a welcome addition. It would have to be pretty comprehensive(ex. text on path, vertical text) and not just a basic text tool, otherwise I would still end up going to other programs to do the job.

raytan73 Since every vector graphics program out there has better text features than Rebelle could ever offer, I would also rather use a vector graphics program if I need more advanced Text features. And with SVG paths there is another nice way to transfer such text into Rebelle.

I agree with the posts above that putting text tools right on the Rebelle program would be amazing. That is the one feature I am struggling with as I create my first children's book. I do appreciate and I will look into the suggestions listed here.

Another request for a type tool here. I would struggle to really use Rebelle regularly or consider this a professional tool without one. Easily adding annotation and lettering to paintings and designs is at an absolute deal breaker. Coming from Photoshop, Corel Painter and Procreate. But enjoying using it so far.

I agree that this should be added. If you saw my real-life signature you would laugh. Signing paintings for me is a real chore, and there are so many good fonts out there now that look like real signatures fonts.
