Hi Escape Motions and others who might know.
I'm ready to install, but one of the first options, I don't feel is descriptive enough, which I'm hoping for some help. I run windows 11 on a Surface Laptop Studio (1 gen). It has a touch screen and pen. I like it a lot. However, with this install, I don't know what pen / ink type to select.
When going here: https://www.escapemotions.com/products/rebelle/support-manual3#bookmark5 I see the following info:
Tablet Support
When you first launch Rebelle 6 you will be asked to select your tablet device:
Wacom compatible (Wintab);
Xencelabs tablet;
Windows 8+ Pointer Input (for Windows users only); or
Windows Ink compatible (for Windows users only).
You can change the tablet type anytime by choosing Edit > Preferences > Tablet. Software restart will be required for the new setting to load.
Rebelle is fully tested on Wacom and Surface tablets. Wacom tablets can be plugged into PC as well as Macintosh, Surface tablets run under Windows OS. Rebelle also works on Huion, XP-Pen, or Monoprice tablets which could be a good alternative.
It's a neat read, but I'm lost between most of these. If I had to guess it's Windows 8+. Could someone help me understand what the ideal option is for my windows 11 device is?
Sincerely,
Kelly

Hello @kellydvernon,
Windows 8+ Pointer Input should be a suitable choice for your device. Have you encountered any issues with it?

Thank you, Alzbeta!
I had to ask because with 6, I would run into performance lag where I'd draw and it would take a moment to catch up with my stroke.
My system was one of the beefier ones (at the time), and also set to best performance for the system.
I'll try it with the 8+ that you mentioned and report back.
Cheers,
Kelly

Hi again @Alzbeta!
I tried the 8+ setting with Rebelle 7.0.6, and I still see the lag. I'm finding it happens when I have large brush zig-zag movements.

Hi, i would advice you to try every option! Don't forget to close and open the program again after to change each option.
I have a Win11 + Wacom Intuos but i use the Win8 option, because if i use the other ones i lose the pen pressure.
And for the lag using big brushes 700 size, it's "normal", it depends of the brush having lots texures or not and because Reb7 is way heavier than the 6 one. I have a PC a bit better than your Surface and still have some slowdowns sometimes.

dougmurakami,
I think you solved it! The wacom setting is what helped me! Also, I had no idea the pressure was tied to that too. After doing the change, I opened it up w/ the same brush and canvas, and things went smooth! The lag, was much less too!
Sincerely,
Kelly
