How to permanently rotate canvas (change orientation)?

Is there a way to permanently reorient the canvas? For example, I started drawing a picture in a landscape format. Throughout the drawing, I had hand-rotated (i.e., temporary rotation) and ended up drawing a portrait-drawing. When I save the file and re-open, it will open in landscape format. Is there a way to permanently reorient (rotate) the canvas? If not, there should be. This is easily done in competing programs. Thank you
