Transforming selection across multiple layers does not work at all.

This bug or missing feature is bad enough that I am considering stopping using Rebelle. It is basic functionality that any layer-based system should have. I am using the most recent Rebelle 7.2.4 (2024-11-29 d570fa20) but this has existed for all versions. I have a two-layer drawing. If I have one layer selected (the current layer) in the Selection panel: And then attempt to transform the selection, I get what is expected: The transform box appears around the selection and I can move the selected region around on the layer. This is perfect. But, if I select two layers - I want to move the line drawing and the colors together - I shift-select the two layers in the Selection panel: Now, if I try to transform those two layers together, this is what I get when I change to the transform tool: The transform box encloses all visible material and transforming just the selected region is impossible. The entire image moves together. This is NOT what I want. And it is not how other layer-based paint programs work. This is a FATAL flaw. It makes a layered-based workflow nearly impossible. Please fix this immediately. Thank you.

Hi @flippypup , Thanks for your input! Rebelle cannot select and transform images from multiple layers. It would be practical if it worked that way, but the solution is more complicated. Just a side note: It is not possible in Photoshop either We will consider adding this to future Rebelle iterations.

Thank you so much for your reply! I don't have much photoshop experience, I didn't realize that you couldn't do that there, You certainly can do this in Clip Studio Paint and it's terrific. I'm curious then, maybe I'm not working the right way. I draw my figures in ink first on one layer and then create a new layer and fill in the color of the figure with watercolor. If I decide, after seeing how the character is coming together, that I need to adjust the shape of the face (by selecting it and applying a warp transform), I pretty much have to redo the colors on the watercolor layer. It's very difficult to try to replicate the warp transform (and the selection!) on that layer. How do people do this? Is there a better workflow?
