How to disable vertical snap

Is there an option to disable the ortho (vertical/horizontal snap when using the shift key to draw a straight line? Turning all snaps does not turn this off. I know that I can disable it by pressing the Shift/Ctrl after the first point is laid, but I only have Shift on my tablet. I don't want to have to use my keyboard, I just want to disable it. Anyone found a way?
