A Question About Edge Darkening and Granulation

I’ve been wondering about this for a while: isn’t there a way to adjust the scale and intensity of Edge Darkening and Granulation? As shown in the attached screenshot, when drawing on a high-resolution image, both effects appear far too subtle. You can imagine what I mean if you think of a 5x5 cm watercolor painting photographed close-up with a high-resolution camera. For the edges in particular, the darkening effect is much thinner than I’d like, and I need a way to make it thicker. Nanopixels don’t provide sufficient support for achieving the desired effect, as the quality drops significantly when viewed up close.

I have the same problem/question.

Play around with the Window->Visual Setting for the Watercolor Behavior to see what you can get. I emphasize the word "play" as the best way to see what you can get ;)
Play around with the Window->Visual Setting for the Watercolor Behavior to see what you can get. I emphasize the word "play" as the best way to see what you can get ;)
It seems my question was not fully understood. Even if the effect looks fine at 100% view on a 72 dpi canvas, it becomes almost invisible when drawing at a higher resolution, such as 300 dpi or more, especially for small physical prints like 5 × 5 cm. Both Edge Darkening and Granulation appear far too subtle in that case. The real problem is that there is no way to scale these effects according to the desired resolution.

OH, that's a different matter. Something that Escape Motions will have to address.
It seems my question was not fully understood.
agreed the edge darkening needs a way to be scaled manually. apparently hot pressed papers have the least absorbency and even with that the edge darkening is still too small.

I totally agree. Rebelle can only achieve a realistic texture effect at a resolution below 200dpi. Once the resolution exceeds 300dpi and the canvas is too large, both the grain and the edge darkening will appear too small and not obvious enough, resulting in a distortion of the texture of the image.

This is a truly thorny issue, significantly impacting my work. Rebelle's grain system is only usable and scaled properly between 72dpi and 200dpi. Above that, the effect deteriorates significantly. At 600dpi, the grain and watercolor edges are practically unrecognizable. Below 200dpi, however, the image quality is incredibly blurry. Nanopixels don't change anything; they simply prevent pixel smudging, resulting in blur after magnification. I still need to work at resolutions above 300dpi for print, and I desperately need a usable 300dpi effect. Furthermore, below 200dpi, the jagged edges of the watercolors are even more pronounced. I consider this the software's most problematic issue, surpassing any other. If it's not resolved soon, I'm planning to abandon it.

I think the most convenient improvement for Escape Motions right now is to release larger-sized, higher-resolution Granulation textures as soon as possible to meet the demand for larger-scale artwork (300dpi/A4 and above). Otherwise, the Granulation textures in larger artwork appear too small; they aren't proportionally enlarged. I know this generation allows users to DIY Granulation textures, but my own creations haven't been ideal. Could the official team create more Granulation textures for users? I feel this is the fastest solution to this problem, at least for me. I urgently need Granulation files compatible with 300-400dpi resolution. Looking forward to your reply! Other aspects of Rebelle's functionality are gradually becoming perfect; even if there are still flaws, they are minor issues. This one issue is truly fatal.

I was able to partially address the granulation issue by locating the corresponding image in the Library folder, enlarging it, and then cropping it back to 1024px for editing. However, this method is still not a complete solution. Since the image is enlarged and cropped, the repeating pattern becomes noticeable more easily. As for edge darkening, I still haven’t found any solution at all. https://blog.naver.com/leeseok_place/224066041399
