Is the Wacom Movinkpad Pro 14 compatible with Rebelle 7 or Rebelle 8? Any hands-on experience welcomed—thanks in advance!
If you look in the Rebelle 8 support forum, you can see my walls of text around some performance issues using the MovinkPad Pro 14” with my Laptop, but on running it via my Desktop, it’s awesome. The first time I’ve been able to use Rebelle on a mobile device with a close to native experience, even if it is by proxy. I do have some unresolved multi-touch gesture problems I’m still working on, with pinch to zoom acting what seems to be incorrectly, but with a bunch of settings across several tech layers to navigate, it may just be a configuration issue, not a limitation. The jury is still out on that one. But I can live without pinch to zoom for now. The Instant Pen Display software from Wacom is still beta software too, so hopefully it will only get better, assuming Wacom don’t just say near enough is good enough.
As mentioned previously, Rebelle cannot be run on an Android device. I have the "MovInk Pad 14" since a few days. The Wacom MovInk Pad 14 has a tablet mode similar to a Wacom Cintiqe. I'm not currently using this mode, as it's still in beta. Therefore, I opted for the "Superdisplay" app (one-time fee: €17), which essentially does the same thing. The app can be connected via Wi-Fi or USB cable; I chose USB cable. So far, everything is working fine, including Rebelle, of course. The great thing about this combination is that you can zoom in and out using the pinch gesture, you can also rotate the canvas with two fingers. Thanks to the touchscreen of the MovInk Pad I can also see my drawings from the MovInk Pad on my large PC monitor too. And I can still use all the keyboard shortcuts.
