Should I update my video card?

My windows computer ran Rebelle 6 very well and 7 well enough. I find that my experience with Rebelle 8.x is a very slow response to my brush strokes with lagging display to the screen. I do not recall which video card I have (I'm not at my station just now) but I would love to hear if I might experience improved painting with a more powerful video card. I will be thankful if anyone with experience of video card technologies, could share the current minimum and the ideal cards to consider. Thanks in advance :)

What processor do you have and how much RAM?

In my (wobbly) estimation, the primary determinants of performance for Rebelle are the age of your CPU's architecture, it's nominal frequency, and (for watercolor simulation) the number of threads it supports. The GPU/video card does come into play for certain canvas display settings though. Real Shader and Soft Shadows seem to be slightly more demanding for the GPU than the old canvas render engine. I generally turn those off (plus Nanopixel, which has a big impact on responsiveness) when I'm working on my 2020 laptop with integrated graphics, until I'm ready to export. However I think the biggest changes that would make v8 feel slower than v7 would be the bristle brushes and the updated impasto system, both of which are mostly CPU-driven. Depending on what kind of system you have and how old it is, there might be an array of inexpensive used CPUs to choose from to extend the useful life of your machine.

I got distracted for several months. Still using the same system. Still having trouble with lag. Here is a screen grab of my system specs. Thanks for replying.
