Image dims when guidelines are enabled

                    Is it normal behavior for my main image to dim slightly when I enable guidelines from a reference image? If so, I'm not sure of the point of this because it misrepresents the values in the painting. I learned this after hours of working on a painting.

                    No, not normal behaviour, and doesn't happen here. Are you using the keyboard shortcut for showing the Guides? Could it be possible that this shortcut somehow has a system-wide effect? No idea, just shooting in the dark... PC or Mac (or even Linux)?

                    Thanks for the reply. I'm on a Mac. I have since restarted my computer for an unrelated reason and the issue seems to have disappeared. Must have been some weird system glitch.
