Hi guys!
First things first: AWSOME drawing tools you have - congrats!
Two days ago, I showed Inspirit (running on my Win10 machine with a Wacom tablet monitor) to a 7 years old girl from the neighborhood. She grabbed the pen and started drawing. It took me about ten minutes (only!) to explain the controls. After that, she created some stunning artwork. Honestly, her creations are absolutely comparable to the ones in your gallery! She, like me, was deeply impressed of the motion feature. After a while, she asked me if she could save her work as a SCREENSAVER! What a wonderful idea I thought! This little young girl knows what a screen saver is because her big brother got a screensaver generator installed on his computer. She watched him playing with that tool which only can create slideshows from a picture list - how boring! Aha, Anna wants to excel her brother's homegrown screensavers! I'm absolutely sure, with a "Save as Screensaver" feature added to Inspirit she could do that effortlessly!
I had to promise to ask you for such a feature, she even told me I should beg you for it :-) So - Alright, here we are…
I tried to simulate this feature using some of my screen recording tools (Camtasia studio and others) but always failed (somehow) because the way you're handling full screen mode and mouse cursor display differs (at least slightly) from standard implementations. Either the mouse got recorded, or the captured window was not in full screen, or I could not see the mouse cursor at all. Anyway, this is no shortcoming but leaves plenty of room for improvements and enhancements!
I read another thread asking for an AVI recording feature. This also sounds like a nice to have feature to me. In any way, capturing (and saving) motion should be regarded "the next maturing level" of Inspirit. I hope, not only for Anna but also for myself, that you will find so spare time in the not to distant future to add that workload to your schedule!
Some further thinking…
Screen recording should capture the raw outcome without mouse cursor and controls but keep these controls visible and accessible, though. I know, this is no trivial undertaking!
A new control, something like a timeline, would be great to have in this context. I mean, today, we cannot know when a spin (full turn of the current drawing) is complete. Thus, we have to wait patiently and watch for that point in time to (e.g.) add some new brush strokes then.
Wouldn't it be cool to have some kind of slider control to move back and forth within the rotation sequence? Start, stop is fine, so what's about rotate forward, backwards, or a single step mode?
Or, what's about a fade in/out? Just to chain some animated artwork together.
Possibilities are endless, aren't they?
Okay, that's enough for now! Keep your extraordinary work going on - I'm looking for your new Flame Painter 4 version! Über-cool what I've seen so far!
God bless you all!
One account,
many possibilities
