crazy latency

Hi, Not sure what's going on, but every version from 3.1.6 on has been a no-go for me due to stroke latency. Nothing has changed with regard to my size/resolution from previous versions (I generally always use the same template), and I'm using the CPU engine, not the GPU engine, but it's acting like the GPU engine did when I had tested it in previous versions. In other words, I can replicate this behavior in 3.1.5 by changing to GPU, but when I go back to CPU, it's fine and usable again. In later versions, both engines are basically identical in performance and therefore unusable. Are there default settings that have changed in 3.1.6 and forward that could be causing this behavior? Hi @GREBNAR, thanks for the feedback! There is very little difference between 3.1.5 and 3.1.8 in terms of the code which could possibly influence the speed of the painting. I am wondering, what tablet are you using? Is this a Surface or do you have a tablet plugged into your Windows 10 computer? If yes, what type?

Hi Veronika, I'm using a Wacom Intuos 4, but everything is set up the same as it's always been, and the tablet works fine everywhere else. I reverted back to 3.1.5 and it worked fine, but thought I'd try to update to the latest to see what happens, and it's the same problem as I had with 3.1.6.

Hi there, I can confirm this behaviour. Brush performance in version 3.1.6 and 3.1.8 is jaggy and not nearly as fluid as in version 3.1.5 I tested with all three versions several times (using GPU or GUP does'nt seem to make a difference. I will stick with 3.1.5 until this issue is solved.

Hi, the same goes for my Mac mini 2018, 32gb RAM and Vega 56, 8Mb graphics card. The latency makes it impossible to work comfortably. Any upcoming solution? Thank you!

Hi @escoces, it may be a different reason behind the latency on macOS, please download Rebelle 3.1 version from your Community profile (go to My profile > Purchases), and let me know how this version works for you.

Hi, Veronika. Thank you for your answer. Version 3.1 works fine. Same brush, same document, and the speed is perfect. For the moment I will work with this version, until the problem is solved. Thanks

Hi Veronika, I sent you the log, but for the benefit of anyone who might come across this thread, I thought I would report here that 3.1.8 is now working as expected, even before I installed the version you sent me. There was a Windows update on my machine yesterday (1/18/2020), so I'm wondering if it might have been some conflict within Windows. For anyone on Windows still having this issue, it might be worthwhile to run any pending Windows updates.

Hello Recently purchased and used Seems to be a problem with version 3.1.8. There is a lot of delay in using watercolor brushes. MacBook Pro 2016 . Intel Core i7 . 16GB. radeon Pro 460 4GB. Graphics 530 1536MB All 3.1.8 / 3.1.6 versions have been brush delayed. So I am using version 3.1. Hope to improve soon.

I have the same problem with 3.1.6 and 3.1.8. I've downloaded 3.1.5 at the latency is gone so I'm also using an older version until this is fixed. Note the latency occurs on initial placement of the first 'stroke' whether by pen or mouse click. ie you press down (mouse/pen) and there is a half-second? delay before the cursor starts tracking properly, but once moving the cursor is properly responsive. So there's some issue at the moment you begin the stroke.

Is there a way I can get the latest version, version 3.15 that still works without the latency? My machine suffers also. I am on windows 10.
