Creating water colour looking shadows

Hi,

Without the usual water colour pigmaents I find my shadows dont look right.

Any advice on selecting watercolour type colours for shadows?  Is it a general rule that you use a colour from the opposite side of the colour wheel to tint your shadows?

I suggest you to do your work in the same way, then, to merge it is good to use the X to know the average color, the Alt key is very precise, for that reason the X key is better. I share my watercolor.
