My brushes only seem to work half the time.

I'm on a Mac (running Mojave) using Flame Painter 4 and I'm having a problem with my brushes...they only want to work half the time. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled it only to have the same issue. I tried to use my ipad/pencil as a tablet and that didn't work either. The brushes just seem to have a mind of their own. I'm still learning the app so maybe I have things set wonky or something? Can anyone help? :)

Hello Julie, thank you for posting to our forum! I am sorry you are experiencing these issues. Please try the following: - go to Preferences > Tablet - try to switch from Pen position to Mouse position (or vice versa) and click OK Do you still experience this problem? If yes, please send us a video of how the brushes work. The video can be recorded on your phone's camera or by a screen capturing software. Send the video via Wetransfer at support [at] escapemotions.com Thanks in advance!

Sorry for the extreme delay in getting back to this. The issue was fixed when I switched tablets. Thanks for the help! :)

Hi @JulieJoyness, thanks for your feedback. What tablet did you have first? What tablet did it work on? Could you please share with me more information? Thanks!

Thanks! I experienced this issue, and the "mouse position" workaround worked for me. My problem showed up when switching to low-dpi for speed. Some background: iMac 5k 20,1 Huion Inspirioy 950p. I reduce the work area to match the proportion of my screen (could be significant?) Flame Painter 4.1.5 CPU use never exceeds 200% (I have 6 cores) GPU use never exceeded 0% 1. All tablet strokes register properly in hi dpi mode. 2. low-dpi mode is much faster, though (hi-dpi is unusable for many brushes) 3. In low-dpi mode, FP only registered about 1 out of every 5 strokes I made on my tablet. 4. The glitch was random seeming (though I can't be sure I touched the exact same point). Holding the pen down for about 10 secs when glitched, FP gave no response. 5. It never failed when using a mouse (both low and hi dpi) Anyway, when I changed to mouse position instead of tablet position, the problem disappeared for all modes. Hope this helps diagnose, thank you for the solution @Veronika

Initially had a similar issue - PC, Windows 7, XP-Pen Deco Pro. In other apps, including Rebelle, I'm using the WinTab mode, and it works well. In Flame Painter however, many strokes would not register. Switched to mouse position - all strokes register, but no pressure sensitivity. After a lot of trial&error with different settings, I found a procedure I had to follow, which works: 1. launch Flame Painter (Windows Ink in preferences needs to be selected before!) 2. go to XP-Pen control panel and activate Windows Ink 3. back to FP and paint - everything's fine (well, almost...) Two annoying things: 1) I need to start FP first - if I switch to Windows Ink in XP panel before that, Pen stops working. So there seems to some interaction between FP and my tablet driver I guess? 2) every time I make adjustments in a floating panel, I need to tap on the canvas once before I can paint again - this doesn't happen with docked panels. Though it might be, that #2 is unrelated. At least it works reliably this way, and I'm not complaining - especially for the price I paid. Incredible program - hope it get's developped further.

The only brush that works on my Dell laptop is the fill brush. All other brushes will not register. I've uninstalled and re-installed the Flame Painter 4.15 program and I've tried various settings in "preferences". Nothing works. Any suggestions?
