I see that I'm not the first to mention this but since the other threads were created some time ago, perhaps it bears repeating. I was extremely disappointed to find that this software had no undo/redo feature. This would be barely acceptable on a free program and most free art programs do in fact have an undo feature even if it's limited, but it's completely baffling and unfathomable to me that a paid program would not have this most basic of features. Look, your software can admittedly create some stunning images, but it's a bit ridiculous to expect your users to start from scratch if they don't like the direction the design went in.
I'm also very confused as to why there is no ability to export video or gifs when your program has the ability to animate the image. What exactly was the point of putting that feature in there with no way to export the video? So if we want to save the video, we are forced to use a screen recorder, which I find cumbersome, and then the first couple of seconds of the video is marred by the controls until they can be closed.
Some other smaller, but still annoying issues are the inability to export the image as anything but a png file. There are circumstances that might require a jpg and while it's a simple matter to convert the file in another program, it would be nice if we didn't have to waste time doing that. Also not having the ability to change where the files are saved within the program itself. Ideally, I'd want to choose the destination each time I export a file, but there are plenty of programs that make you set a default location. At least they do let you change that default from within the program.
I think this was mentioned by someone else, but more options for the number of times things are mirrored would be really nice. It would also be nice if there was a bit more functionality/flexibility with the color selection. Sometimes I like to get really precise when selecting colors so in particular I'd love to see the option to pick colors based on html hex codes. I could also possibly live with entering in RGB values, but that just creates more work for me because I have to first convert the hex code and then enter multiple values instead of one, so being able to input hex codes would be vastly preferred.
Again, I'll reiterate that out of all the things I mentioned here, the lack of an undo feature is the most problematic and it's completely beyond me why this feature was not included in a paid program. I know that you've mentioned in response to other users that you do hope to add it in the future but you had no idea on the timeline and have made it clear that this software is not a high priority for you. I just really hope that when you do add it, that you won't make your users pay to upgrade to get a feature that should have been included right from the start.
I'm going to have to think long and hard about whether I want a refund. While I find the lack of an undo feature completely unacceptable and inexcusable for a paid art program, the images are quite stunning, so I'm going to have to see if it's worth having to start from scratch every time I don't like how a color combination or whatever looks.
I was possibly considering returning this in favor of Amberlight which does have undo and video export features listed, but while some of the example images shown do look somewhat similar to those in Inspirit, I'm not sure if it can actually do all the things that Inspirit can do? On top of that, I'm also hesitant because Amberlight doesn't appear to be a high priority for you development wise either, but I would still appreciate information on whether it does have the same capabilities that Inspirit has but more, or if it can't actually do the same types of images.
Thanks,
Rowan
