Painting and drawing has been a habit from a really early age. While studying art Nicola came across many inspirations such as Picasso, Michelangelo, Rubens and (her favorite) Jenny Saville. She loves what she refers to as ‘chunky‘ art. Nicola enjoys working with thick, expressive brush strokes, where the paint almost has a life of it’s own. That’s the goal of her work painting portraits, to capture something visceral. When not making pieces for work she mostly makes art in tribute to her favorite films, games, and books. She is a bit of a nerd, she says.
