Whether you are an aspiring artist or an established art master without any online presence, you should start to think about promoting your art online. In this progressive internet era, there are tons of website where you can post your work and wait for the glory (including requests for a commissioned work) but unless you have a personal assistant this activity may as well be time-consuming and distract you from your creative process. Prioritizing your work to only a few social networks is a good start, but what are the top social networks for artists you should sign up to? Here are our top picks:
1. DeviantArt

Founded in August 2000, DeviantArt is the largest online social network and platform for artists and art enthusiasts to exhibit, promote, and share their works. With over 38 million registered members and over 65 million unique visitors per month, it is one of the top social networks you need to start using right now to get a nice exposure for your works. DA’s members known as deviants upload over 160,000 original artworks every day, everything from painting and sculpture to digital art, pixel art, films, and anime. Join their daily drawing challenge, create incredible collections and see them showcased on DA or search for any particular art style in various categories. You can also become a member of their forums and chats and get critique for your work. Artists simply love DeviantArt because of their inclusive and supportive community.
2. CGSociety

The CGSociety supports artists at every level by offering a range of services to connect, inform, educate and promote digital artists worldwide. You can find interesting tutorials and workshops here or have a chat with some of the top professionals in the CG industry.

3. Pinterest

A great place for sharing (pinning) images with your followers and following other people who share inspiring material. It works like your personal scrapbook with the difference that people can actually see what you scrapbook online. Do you love drawing but also enjoy cooking? Great! No one will be bothered by your cooking recipes because you can pin all topics you like on Pinterest, people who want to keep a track of your art career can follow solely your art-related boards. Pinterest reports 150 million monthly users - that’s a huge number of people who can find your profile and look at your beautiful work, don’t you think? After signing up to Pinterest, go and follow us at https://sk.pinterest.com/escapemotions/
4. Behance

Behance is the leading online platform to showcase & discover creative work: the creative world updates it in one place to broadcast widely while companies explore the work and access talent on a global scale. Behance’s innovative platform distributes work to other online galleries, maximizing exposure for top talent on their site. Get appreciation for your art, mention companies you have worked with so far and list some past professional experience. Behance is a large online catalog where most of the page views come from non-members, so be sure to upload your finished piece and possibly get hired.
5. Instagram

A global community of more than 500 million users who capture and share 95 million photos every day enables its users to take pictures and videos, and share them either publicly or privately on the app, as well as through a variety of other social networking platforms. Instagram is heavily visited by artists of any kind - just imagine that someone can find your art only because you put a #hashtag on it. Get the most essential Instagram hashtags for artists here: https://conceptartempire.com/art-hashtags/
6. Tumblr.

Tumblr lets you effortlessly share anything - post text, photos, quotes, links, music, and videos from your browser, phone, desktop, email or wherever you happen to be. You can customize everything, from colors to your theme’s HTML and make your account a nice place to visit. Tumblr hosts over 332 million blogs and gets more than 40 million posts every day, many of them focused on photography, illustrations, and drawing. So why don’t give Tumblr a try?
7. Facebook

For some people, Facebook’s days of glory are gone. But with approximately one billion users it is still the largest social network out there. If you have a private account and don’t want to mix your private life with the professional, start your fan page where only your art will be exposed. What is great about Facebook is that you can join many online art groups where similar people like you post their works and questions so you actually learn a lot too! Don’t forget to follow Escape Motions on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/flamepainterpage/
8. Twitter

Twitter’s mission is to give everyone the power to create and share ideas and information instantly, without barriers. This social network states 313 million of active users to connect to people outside their current network. On Twitter, you can be sure that you’ll meet people you probably wouldn’t be able to reach otherwise. Great resources are being shared there every second, which may broaden your horizons and stimulates your own creative juices. We love to share news from our creative world on our Twitter account too so be sure to follow us at https://twitter.com/escapemotions
9. LinkedIn

As of 2015, LinkedIn had more than 460 million members in over 200 countries and territories and is the world’s largest professional network and platform for business. LinkedIn allows you to upload photos but you must keep in mind that this network is more for business talk than for showing off your work. You may ask yourself ‘Why would I need that?’. Well, you can make a few useful connections and meet other business professionals, who can bring you valuable resource as well as build relationships with potential customers, clients, and partners. Some of the things you can add to your profile include the basics of your resume, a summary about yourself, your contact information, links to your website and/or blog, previous employers, projects you’ve worked on, and more. Don’t forget to add a professional picture which is ‘a must’ on this pro platform.
10. Dribbble

Dribbble is show and tell for artists of all kinds - web designers, graphic designers, illustrators, icon artists, typographers, logo designers, and others share small screenshots (shots) that show their work, process, and current projects. Dribbble’s system is very basic: you upload a 400×300 shot (120.000 pixels), the community watches it, they like and give feedback if they want to. This system is oriented to receive a lot of feedback from other designers, so you’ll always have someone to rely on when a creative crisis occurs :)
Sharing your work on social media is a great way of getting an appreciation for your talent, however, such self-promotion may not be an ideal option for an introvert artist, or it is possible you just don’t like to ‘boast’ with what you do online. Believe us, there should not be such feelings when it comes to promoting your work. Maybe you will be surprised by how many fans you can gain just because they can find your art online. Or how good it feels when some stranger commends on your talent or a great art you created. Or how good it feels to complain from time to time because of the lack of inspiration or anything else - there are still people who listen and can even give you some great advice. And the most important part - you can make good friends online with some of your fans who will understand you because you all share a common interest.
What do you think?

In fact, all of the above are a disaster for artist, I'm not talking about graphic designers and people who just looking some platform to sell their stuff. I'm talking about real artists who want to present their art to the public, and none of the above website will get you any exposure without payment...It would seems that art communities hardly exist anymore on the net and was taken over from Facebook and ArtShops, shops, shops
Try ArtformPlatform.com ... It’s free
I'm trying to learn HTML/CSS and what not to see if I can build one... especially since DA has gone to shit, can't find anything on it.
Why Not to try imgbb.com or imgflip.com ?, in imgflip there are many people used imgflip, its actually for a meme, but its okay to post your art, make sure this is a comic, but in imgbb, there no one could to see your art, expect you give some one the link to your web, like this mainn123.imgbb.com i give you a link, i hope you like that
You are right about you write, I was at devianart member and that place become a cancer.

hi
Deviantart ain't what it used to be. Sadly the site is devolving into a fetish forum. There is still a lot of amazing artists there, but you have to dig through a lot of obscene material to find them. I do not object to adult content, and believe that art should stimulate and challenge social norms, but DA recommendations need a clear caveat.
You're right dude.
even after turning on the nsfw filter it still shows inappropriate stuff bc ppl are too lazy to mark it anymore. smh. it used to be so amazing. what happened?

1- Behance is for you to post your work, is an online portfolio, you won't get "fans" in there is a plataform more for people that work in the industry, designers, photographers etc to get to know your work and be inspired...
2- Instagram will give you more "fans" and you will become popular depending on what kind of work you make, those everyday short funny comics do well, but is not good to post a full comic in there but is a great plataform to advertise your comic and to connect and intereact with the fans and keep them updated on your story for example.
3- Twitter is the same but posting your work in there is kinda... cause is not meant for pictures more for texts.
4- Pinterest is just for inspiration , i don't know anybody who uses pinterest to post their work in there... i visist that website and i have an account but i use it for inspiration, i have many folders like: branding , advertising campaigns, photoshoots, art, art tutorials, interior design, things i wanna buy etc
5- Facebook ... nobody in my country uses facebook anymore, it was popular years ago now we use it for college and school stuff, just middle age people use it and we check the news here and there but i'm not that active anymore...
6- Devianart to me is more like a forum for people in the art community, you won't get any exposure in there or work opportunities like you would get on behance or instagram. Devianart to me resumes in furries drawing lmao and you find some nice stuff in there like free photoshop brushes and cool desktop icons for free.
A new platform for artistic people, called ReMi-Net, is up and running ;)
https://www.remi-net.uk/
If any artists are looking for popular hashtags to use while promoting their art, then here is a great resource on the topic - https://www.nichemarket.co....
deviantart is the slowest website to get a community its almost a nightmare for new artist
tumbler- twitter - maybe Instagram - even facebook are way better and more friendly for artist
A) I totally agree with that
B) AJDRSDHSG!!!! IS THAT JELLAL I SEE?! I FRIGGIN LOVE FAIRYTAIL!!!
As someone who has used all 4, I have to disagree. The community on deviantart feels a lot more present and more welcoming towards artists (new and old). Instagram is okay, but overall those platforms feel like secondary social media accounts that someone on youtube would link to when their viewers would like to see stuff outside of that platform.
Twitter is not what it used to be, Twitter is now constantly harassing it's users, pushing accounts like mine out, I have been on there for over 7 years, with over 200K Followers, Twitter now Hates Artists, that's why I'm here searching for a new place to advertise my Art.
Deviantart is absolute HELL. No one watches you or follows you unless you draw actual genitals. I hate it.
Deviantart is a pain in the rear...tumblr is ok; I also made my own art page on Facebook & there are groups you can join for feedback.
There is a dedicated platform for artists to showcase their art, talent and photography. You just need to join at http://XtraTalents.com and start sharing your artworks
There are only 3 artists on there!
There are more than 2000 artists. But only few are active and posts regularly
This is really an outstanding though. All site had a best ranking in the world. Facebook, Twitter is the most popular.
An excellent post on social sites for artist. I saw sites DA is excellent and they are so nice sites to post the images. I posted our Frieze Los Angeles images in those sites.
One of the best way to promote your work online as an artist, photographer or model is to submit to a magazine for greater exposure and take advantage of their audience.
http://yyouthmag.com/artist...
What was that network that came out a few years ago that promised to protect your privacy? Trying to find my account for Tangeray
DeviantArt's user agreement, if anyone actually reads it... clearly states that your work can be changed without your consent and that your name and anything you submit becomes their property... this is not a site to promote yourself, it is a site used to take the rights to your own work away from you. I deleted the account immediately after reading it. I was uploading the first image, and clicked 'I do not agree'.. you can't submit work unless you agree. It should absolutely be taken off of this list, or the description should be changed. Most people do not read the agreements. I do. You're crazy if you want to give up your rights to your own work. Read it for yourself.. in its entirety.
Also, if anyone responds to this, I will not know, because I am only posting it as a warning. I won't be receiving responses because everything from this will be going in my spam folder. So, have a nice day and I hope this helped you. Like I said, you can read it for yourself when you upload an image. Not making this up.
A true artist is an original and nonconformist. Otherwise they are a copy machine.
https://www.etsy.com/shop/k...
That seems a little pretentious, discrediting others work just because you know how to make paint splash, honestly your art is nice just don't inflate your ego homie
If you're selling originals for $48, you're part of the reason Etsy sucks.
i dont even call what your doing art :) , it requires no skill just a brush , color and a canvas, and for some low self esteem people who cant explain what their looking at to buy it , so dont casually dismiss people who put years to learn actual art , you talk about nonconformity but you are conformed just to lesser forms of it :) because if you were not you wouldnt dismiss any form of art :) at least i dont claim to be that
" . . . because if you were not you wouldnt dismiss any form of art."
Forgive me, but didn't you, with your first sentence, dismiss a form of art? Hers?
No matter what you think of the QUALITY of her art, how can you decry someone who dismisses other forms of art, yet begin YOUR reply by telling her, "i dont even call what your doing art :) , it requires no skill just a brush . . ."
I may or may not think highly of the quality of another's art, but if I tell them that what they are doing isn't art, I will not make a reply that negates my final sentence by doing the very thing I am saying not to do, in the body of my reply.
I agree with you!
They do not know to draw any more cuz they use brushes with stamp.
True artist do not need brushes with stamp.
All become artist LOL even me :)
i had drawn the sketch of deadpool you all want to see it?
Share that on ReMi-Net ;)
