Blending Creates Weird Artifacts

I've noticed that when using the blending mode, weird step-like artifacts occur. I've tried decreasing the spacing to 1 and increasing brush density all the way which helps a bit but it does make the texture very harsh. Is there a workaround for this? Thank you. Hi DhabitahPunk, Thanks for reporting this! This issue stems from a performance optimizations of color smudging, color is mixed in steps instead of continually. The vertical green stroke is blending with the brown background, and when the colors are significantly different, this stepping effect can occur. We’re actively working on a new system that should not have this problem and improve the blending process. In the meantime, we recommend creating the green stroke on a separate layer, if possible, as a temporary workaround.

Thank you! I shall try that workaround in the mean time.
