Hi all! I converted and imported my old colour set of all the usual watercolour pigments. I can't remember where it all originally came from, but enjoy! The letters at the start indicate the real-world properties of the pigment: O=Opaque, T=Transparent, St=Staining, Gr=Grainy. Of course making them work like that is up to you, I don't think the Rebelle 3 engine is quite that clever (yet? correct me if I'm wrong!). Here is the data, just save it as a .txt file and follow the instructions in the Rebelle 3 manual to import. The first two spaces on each line must be tab characters, I hope that was supported in the copy and paste. #F5F481 O Lemon Yellow #FBF542 O G Lemon #F9F406 O St Cadmium Lemon #F9F000 O St Bizmuth Yellow #F9EF01 T St Transparent Yellow #F4ED01 T St Yellow #F9DD00 O St Pale Cadmium Yellow #F3B900 T Indian Yellow #F1A710 O St Cadmium Yellow #EC8C36 O St Deep Cadmium Yellow #E78135 O Cadmium Orange #E3682C O Orange #E45125 O St Cadmium Scarlet #E11E2E T St Scarlet Lake #DC3238 O Red #E12442 O G St Cadmium Red #CC093B O St Deep Red #AC1C39 O G Deep Cadmium Red #E85B62 T Quinacridone Red #EA9B94 T St Rose Dore #E7516E T G Rose Madder #A6242E T St Alizarin Crimson #D02A40 T St Permanent Alizarin Crimson #E94760 T St Carmine #9A438F St G Cobalt Violet #3C0A4F T St Mauve #531A7E T St Violet #794B96 T G Ultramarine Violet #8C2159 T St Permanent Magenta #CB316F T Quinacridone Magenta #492645 T Purple Lake (Student) #03A4DD T G Manganese Blue #59B3D0 O G Cerulean Blue #0176BC T G Cobalt Blue #45398C T G Deep Cobalt Blue #2565AF T Ultramarine #354F97 T G French Ultramarine #322B6E T Indanthrene Blue #2F3A7F T St Prussian Blue #080E13 O St Indigo #1C5761 T St Phthalo Blue #15515E O Cobalt Turquoise #18B2B2 O Light Cobalt Turquoise #A5D2BB O G Cobalt Green #00AA79 O Emerald (Student) #9DC592 T Terre Verte #4D8641 O G St Chromium Oxide #02A877 T G Viridian #30723A T St Sap Green #454F33 T St Olive Green #E2D003 T Green Gold #FFF3AB O Light Naples Yellow #FBDB84 O Naples Yellow #F2C536 O Deep Naples Yellow #E9CE25 O Light Yellow Ochre #DBA045 T St Deep Gold Ochre #E6B045 O Yellow Ochre #CD8D42 T Raw Sienna (Student) #E9B457 T St Gold Ochre #B94B30 T Burnt Sienna #B24E3E T St Maroon #D9913C T G Brown Ochre #884D2F O Light Red #903E27 O St Venetian Red #803629 O Indian Red #653D32 T St Brown Madder #433736 T G Burnt Umber #25191D T St Vandyke Brown #57452D T G Raw Umber #BEBF9D O Davy's Grey #394045 O St Payne's Grey #101010 O G Mars Black #0E0E09 O G Ivory Black #070707 O Lamp Black #FFFFFF O Titanium White

tried to improve the color accuracy of my Earth color samples. Here is the complete set with Hematites, red and yellow ochres and also synthetic mineral pigments. I made the samples from scams and photos of watercolor swatches. Most of the watercolors I made myself, some from pigments I collected from ice age moraines and iron ore deposits in southwest Germany. I tried all sorts of variations of the "Tabs" and it would work for some, and not for others. I'm manually rebuilding a copy. It's slow but it's working.

Thanks Bob, I just want to point out that doesn't look like sap green to me. I made a search and the agreed value seems to be #5c8b15. Cheers

Andrew. How can I get a color set from text files and import it into the program. I tried to copy this file to notepad and save it as a text file and then import it to Rebelle, unfortunately only the file name shows up. What should be changed in the text file? Please help. Google translation.

For Sap Green i say depends brand how it looks one Sap Green what is there defined in text earlier is less yellow my wtercolour paint. depends so much to brand. Only few mixtuews what i have my palette i buyed bcouse part of this colour combination is not availbble in single pigment. and maybe photograph my art supplies photos and convrt some their colorus to Rebelle i feel using my mirrorless and etc i get better colour accuracy thna cheap scanner what i have access. like maybe my softapstels and coloured pencils. allready done palette based few photos maybe reduce it bit.

Hi Rebelle Artists! My Color Set for those who asked. I call it my John Pike set since this is the type of palette I use for traditional watercolors. (Minus Black & Grays) The Black I use for Masking Only, Gray values I use for pencil drawing only. Grays and black I generated within the Rebelle 4 color wheel. When traditional painting I mix all of my grays with any Blue along with any Brown. I do not use black when painting. About this set - I scanned the colors from actual W&N color swatches on traditional watercolor paper. I maintain a color calibrated system. The set above from Dreagthe is also an excellent color set! My colors from upper left corner. Black, 50%Gray, 90% Gray, 60% Gray, 80% Gray, 70% Gray, Brown Madder, Burnt Sienna, Winsor Orange, Raw Umber, Quinacradone Gold, Aureolin Yellow, Winsor Lemon, Sap Green, Winsor Green, Cobalt Turquoise, Cerulean Blue, Cobalt Blue, French Ultramarine Blue, Prussian Blue, Cobalt Violet, Permanent Magenta, Permanent Rose, Winsor Red, Alizarin Crimson. When I use this set I choose Order By Hue at the bottom of the color set panel. Enjoy!

Good afternoon! I'm new to Rebelle, but not new to traditional and digital painting. With regard to traditional painting, I use the W&N Griffin Alkyd oil paints on Belgian linen stretched on a frame. I also use a lot of the W&N Artist oils traditionally too. When I prototype a painting, I tend to do so digitally, forming my ideas digitally using painting tools within Photoshop and ArtRage. I've used a lot of tools including Corel Painter, Photoshop, ArtRage, and Fresco and others, but I hadn't tried Rebelle. I have to say, I am really loving it! even though I'm new at it. I decided to bring my color palettes that I use in other digital tools. Specifically I use the W&N artist oils color palette, or color set as it's called here. Here's my Winsor & Newton Artist Oils Color Set, I hope you will enjoy it. And here's the list of pigments with hex and names. I do use a few specialized colors from other manufacturers traditionally, but these are just the ones from the W&N Artist oil line. I don't use metallic colors traditionally, but since they were in the swatches, I've used them here, they don't really show up metalic obviously, but I thought I'd include the hex #'s anyway. Hi, everyone! First of all, thank you so much to everyone who's shared palettes. I've used pretty much all of them at some point. : ) Like most Gen X kids, I grew up on Rankin/Bass movies (if you're unfamiliar, check out The Enchanted World of Rankin-Bass). I especially love the soft, darkish worlds of their cartoon movies, like The Last Unicorn and The Hobbit. So I've been creating color palettes from screenshots. I enjoy using them in pastel/acrylic landscapes and for wet-acrylic/watercolor children's book type illustrations. Rankin Bass #1 Rankin Bass #2 I also love to paint swamps and forests. These sets are taken from their respective websites so should be a good approximation of their colours. They are in alphabetical order (as I don't think Rebelle can sort that way) but can be easily sorted by hue in Rebelle. Some custom color sets. The William Turner pigments palette. This is the most "accepted" pigments set that Turner carried around. This color set has Pigments names, i don't know if they will be lost during the upload process. This color set has Pigments names, i don't know if they will be lost during the upload process. I created this as colors for papers, this is the version i created as Color Set. If you want, i can put the Hex Codes + Names. The Zorn Palette. Hi, I was wondering if I wanted to create a digital one for one color match for my Faber Castell Pastel pencils would I have to take a high resolution photo of each of the 120 pencils? I want to start testing colors out before I burn rather expensive pastelmat paper and burn through the physical pencils. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated. I am running Rebelle 7.

Hello. Is there a way to create a set of swatches and save these as a colur set which I can resuse? I'm confused about how color sets are created or reused... Thanks, Richard

I think I have sorted it now. I needed to go to Colour Sets first then the buttons are there to add or remove new colour set.

Some time ago, I stumbled across the Instagram account of the pastel manufacturer Terry Ludwig and their beautiful pastel sets. These sets were so true to colour that I took a screenshot of each one. I have made the JPG files available on my blog. Michael Forte discovered them there and converted them into color sets for Rebelle. Thanks to Michael! And here they are ... This project reminded me that I really was always a kid at heart who loved looking at the names of crayon colors. The "black ink" set was pulled in part from all of my fountain pen, acrylic, and handmade inks (though yes i know... not all "black"). The other set is samples from about 5 poster and acrylic paint sets for painting within a comic and animation type gamut. Both renamed through the color repository.
Once upon a time, when I was still a wee paint eating Kabi, I used to keep books full of tiny swatches and lightfastness tests for different paints and pigments. I would list paint brands, their sources, where they got their pigments if listed, pigment numbers.... the works. Notes about tone and granulation. And then the storms and hurried moves came ... and while I still have the delicious "barely edible" paints - for some I just have the memory of the color and the way they make me feel. Here are some gems and jewels of my watercolor box and miscellaneous unmarked half and quarter boxes. True, there's no need for ALL the colors if you work in water media - they did feel a little like a dragon's hoard. ;)
