The World Illustration Awards (WIA) showcase great work being made by illustrators all over the world. WIA focuses on supporting and celebrating creativity, connecting illustrators to their peers and the industry. Escape Motions is proud to align its vision of supporting artists with creative tools such as Rebelle, with the vision of the team behind WIA and sponsor one of the categories.

The ten categories reflect the breadth of illustration being created today. You can choose from categories such as Advertising, Animation, Publishing, Book Covers, Editorials, and more. The Publishing category sponsored by Rebelle, asks for Books and Beyond entries. You can enter this category with Illustrations created for any book format for readers 16+ years old. This category includes inside illustrations or whole book design for:

  • works of fiction
  • non-fiction
  • text books
  • e-books
  • interactive books
  • reference books
  • poetry and anthologies
  • graphic novels
  • picture books and humour
  • artist books
  • handmade books

The competition opened on December 2, 2022. The entries are accepted until February 14, 2023. Find more information on how to enter the WIA 2023 on its website.

We encourage all illustrators to find a suitable category and join the World Illustration Awards. Your work will be judged by experts in their sectors, who represent a global view of illustration. By joining a global competition, your art can get recognition not only from sponsors and partners but from clients and companies all around the world.
