Authentic brushes
Dive into a more dynamic painting experience with improved brush tools. We have redesigned and edited most of the wet and dry media brushes and prepared new types of oil grunge and scumbling presets providing an even more versatile creative workflow.

In the latest update, we've made significant improvements to the oil brushes. Specifically, we've fine-tuned the smudging capabilities, particularly at lower opacity values. This enhancement plays a pivotal role in creating a more true-to-life appearance for your digital artwork.

Compared to Rebelle 6 brushes, the brushes in Rebelle 7 don't need to be as flat and can have more mass, especially when stamping.

In Rebelle 7 you will be able to enjoy redesigned dry tools especially pencils, charcoals, and pastels that even more realistically mimic traditional mediums.

As mentioned in the previous blog posts, Rebelle 7 will bring metallic materials and a dedicated brush set under Oils & Acrylics toolset to achieve the best look for your metallic strokes.
Default metallic brushes for painting with Gold, Silver, Copper, Bronze, Emerald, or other metallic effects.
Rebelle 7 can use brushes made in the previous versions. Your custom brushes from an older version should look and behave the same, except for the presets that use higher 'Opacity Multiplier' in the Brush Creator and don't smudge color. For such brushes, you can easily reduce the given slider to an appropriate value.
Advanced Brush Creator
Brush Creator in Rebelle 7 will bring many new additions empowering you to fine-tune your brushes to perfection. It features a new 'Textures' category which allows you to work with additional textures. These include:
- Background Textures that offer two customizable textures to introduce an additional layer of grain in your brush. Such an option is useful for either additive texturing or the creation of random voids within your brushstrokes. This feature proves practical for generating dust effects with dry tools or achieving various scumbling and dry brush effects.
The settings for background textures offer various options to adjust such as the blending mode, depth, opacity, or how the texture should work with the paper texture.

- Dual Brush which gives you the power to add a secondary brush to your preset to influence the primary brush. This new option allows you to create an extra brush with its own shape, spacing, and other parameters that follows the main brush and can add or remove parts from it, according to the blend mode you choose. Adding a dual brush is a great way of adding randomness to the stroke, for example, add random stains or voids.

Under the Brush Creator's 'Paint' category you will be able to select a Default color that can be saved into the selected brush preset. It is useful for example for setting up an exact shade of grey for your pencils or charcoals.
The more advanced Brush Creator will also give you the possibility to choose to smudge the stroke on the bumps of the paper. This option comes with its curve editor that can be set for the 'Pressure' you use or the 'Speed' you paint with.

Rebelle 7 will be available on our website from Thursday, December 14th, 2023 for the full price of $89.99 for the standard and $149.99 for the Pro edition.
All existing owners of the previous Rebelle 6 version are eligible for a 50% discount - the upgrade price will be $44.99 for the standard and $74.99 for the Pro edition (when upgrading the same edition). All users who purchased Rebelle 6 from November 1st, 2023 until the release of Rebelle 7 will be eligible for a free upgrade.
